Shelter Cove Harbour has hired a new fireworks vendor to light up the sky on Tuesday nights for the remainder of the summer, the company announced Monday.
The announcement comes a week after Shelter Cove Harbour Company’s annual Independence Day fireworks show was canceled at the last-minute because South East Pyrotechnics Inc. was unable to produce the show.
Falcon Fireworks, a pyrotechnics company from Guyton, Ga., will take over the HarbourFest fireworks show starting Tuesday night.
Karen Kozemchak, director of marketing for Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, which operates Shelter Cove Harbour and Marina, said Shelter Cove will be adding one more show Aug. 23 to the HarbourFest schedule.
According to a Palmetto Dunes news release, Falcon Fireworks worked with the Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina team this week to take the barge holding the existing equipment down to Savannah to replace it with new equipment in time for Tuesday’s show. This could not be done in time for a make-up show the week of July 4.
HarbourFest fireworks are set to take off at 9:30 p.m. every Tuesday through Aug. 23 in Shelter Cove Harbour, weather permitting. In the event of a weather cancellation, Shelter Cove officials say they will attempt to hold the fireworks the following day.
